DHAKA, March 14, 2024 (BSS) - Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested Habi Molla, the main accused in the sensational 13-year-old girl rape and pornography case in Agailjhara, Barishal from Hazaribagh police station area of the capital on Wednesday.

The arrestee is Md. Habibulla alis Habi Molla, 55, son of Md. Emamoddi Gaien from Agailjhara police station of Barishal district, Senior Assistant Director (Media) of RAB-2 ASP Shihab Karim told BSS today.

Acting on a tip off, a team of RAB-2 conducted a drive in Hazaribagh area around at 2:00 pm on Wednesday and arrested him, he said.

In February 5, 2024 the victim's father filed a rape case against the accused at the Agailjhara police station of Barisal district under the Prevention of Violence against Women and Children Act and under the Pornography Control Act.

The arrested accused has been handed over to Agailjhara police station in Barisal district, RAB officials said.
