DHAKA, March 19, 2024 (BSS) - Six meritorious students of different departments of Dhaka University (DU) have been awarded 'Suruchi Bala Pal Trust Fund Scholarship' for their outstanding academic performances.

DU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr ASM Maksud Kamal distributed scholarships among the students as the chief guest at a function at VC's Lounge of the university.

The recipients of scholarship are Mahiul Islam (Management), Al Arafah (Economics), Babul Mia (Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology), Nayon Chandra Bormon (Pharmacy), Sadia Sharmin Choity (Pharmacy) and Rabina Akter Roshni (Electrical and Electronic Engineering).
 
Treasurer of DU Prof. Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed presided over the function while DU Pro-VC (Academic) Prof. Dr. Sitesh Chandra Bachar, Dean of Biological Sciences faculty Prof. Dr. AKM Mahbub Hasan, DUTA President Prof. Dr. Md. Nizamul Hoque Buiyan and donor of the Trust Fund Dr. Taposh Chandra Pal addressed it. Registrar Probir Kumar Sarker conducted the programme.

Prof Maksud Kamal urged the students to prepare themselves as skilled human resources to fulfill the expectation of family as well as the nation.

The VC urged the students to take lessons from donor of this trust fund to work for betterment of the society also thanked the donor for setting up this trust fund to perpetuate the memories of her mother.
