DHAKA, March 27, 2024 (BSS) - The Consulate General of Bangladesh in Milan celebrated the
Great Independence and National Day 2024 on Tuesday with much enthusiasm and fervour.
 
In the morning, the national flag was hoisted on the Consulate General premises in the presence
of officials of the Consulate General and members of the Bangladesh community.
 
Then the Consul General, along with the officials of the Consulate General and expatriates, laid a
floral wreath at the portrait of the Father of the Nation.
 
A one-minute silence was observed in memory of Bangabandhu, the martyrs of August 15, 1975,
and all martyrs who were killed in the Liberation War.
 
After that, remittance awards were given to three people at the institutional level and two people
at the individual level.
 
In the discussion, a large number of community members paid glowing tributes to Bangabandhu
for his lifelong struggle for the emancipation of the Bangalee people.
 
Messages from the President and Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs were read out
there.
 
They also eulogized Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for her relentless efforts to take Bangladesh
on a greater trajectory of development which is now being admired all over the world.
