DHAKA, March 28, 2024 (BSS) - Chief Justice Obaidul Hassan, who is on the tour of the United States, held a meeting with his American counterpart Justice John G Roberts, Jr.
 
Justice Hassan at the meeting emphasized on bilateral and mutual cooperation between the judiciaries of the two countries. Expressing his firm support to such cooperation, Justice Roberts too hoped that a strong bond would be created between the two judiciaries through fruitful contact and programmes.
 
The meeting, held on March 27 in Washington was the very first meeting of such between the chief justices of the two countries. Justice Sheikh Hassan Arif of High Court Division was present at the meeting, among others.
 
Justice Obaidul Hassan and Justice Sheikh Hassan Arif later observed the proceedings of the court of the US chief justice.
 
Justice John G Roberts, Jr, later introduced his Bangladesh counterpart and Justice Arif to his colleague judges and lawyers.
