DHAKA, April 1, 2024 (BSS) - Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), in

separate drives, arrested 16 members of a local Kishore Gang from city's
Mohammadpur area on Sunday.

The arrested are Ismail, Arif, Iman, Nazmul, Nadim, Md Wakil, Md Mojakkin,
Manna, Sohel, Zahid, Belal, Md Dipu, Md Shanto, Md Tausif, Md Topu and Md
Liton Mia.

During the operations, a huge amount of sharp local weapons were recovered
from their possession.

"Acting on a tip-off, different teams of the RAB-2 conducted raids in Dhaka
Udyan and Chandrima Udyan areas in Mohammadpur and nabbed them on Sunday
afternoon and night," Senior Assistant Director (media) and Senior ASP Shihab
Karim of RAB-2 said at a press conference held at RAB headquarters this
morning.

During the primary interrogation, they admitted that they carried out various
criminal activities including robbery, theft, extortion to dominate the areas
by terrorizing people, he said.

"Necessary legal action has been taken against them," the RAB official added.
