DHAKA, April 13, 2024 (BSS) - There is no specific security threat centering the Pahela Baishakh to be celebrated tomorrow, said Director General of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) M Khurshid Hossain.

 
"There is no specific threat centering the festivities as we've reviewed intelligence, cyber monitoring data, and other sources," he told journalists after inspecting the security measures in the city's Ramna Batamol area here today.
 
He said RAB members are on high alert to thwart any potential militant activities.

Highlighting the security measures taken by the RAB's cyber team to monitor and mitigate the dissemination of rumours or false information centering the Pahela Baishakh, Khurshid Hossain said RAB has planned to deploy additional forces across various event venues nationwide.
 
The RAB DG said the elite force is committed to ensuring the safety and security of all people and requested people to inform RAB personnel about any troublemakers for quickly action.

"All event locations will remain under adequate security coverage . . . bomb disposal units and K9 squads will be on alert in Dhaka," he added.
