DHAKA, Apr 19, 2024 (BSS) - An engineer of Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) was killed in a road accident in front of Dhaka Elevated Expressway near Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) in the capital today.

Police said the accident occurred at about 10 am when a passenger bus of Raida Paribahan crashed through the security wall of the third terminal of the HSIA after losing its control and hit a motorcycle.

Civil Aviation Senior Sub Assistant Engineer Maidul Islam was riding a motorcycle along the road and it was run over by the bus, sub-inspector of Airport Police Station Soman Chandra Das confirmed.

Critically injured Mainul was rescued from the spot and rushed to Kurmitola General Hospital, where the on duty doctors declared him dead.

Although police seized the bus, its driver and helper managed to escape from the spot.

A case was filed with Airport Police Station in this connection.
