MANIKGANJ, April 20, 2024 (BSS) - Election Commissioner Md. Alamgir today directed election officers to perform their duties with honesty and sincerity to hold the upcoming upazila polls in a free, fair and neutral manner.

He gave the directives while exchanging views with the election officers and the contesting candidates of the district.   

Sounding a note of caution against irregularities during polls, he said, there is no scope of any irregularities in the upcoming upazila election as the polling will take place under Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) system.

Chaired by Deputy Commissioner Rehana Akther, senior district level government officers were present on the occasion.

Later, Election Commissioner Md. Alamgir also exchanged views with the candidates of Singair and Harirampur upazila and urged them to abide by the electoral code of conduct for the sake of holding a free, fair and neutral election.
