DHAKA, April 25, 2024 (BSS) - LGRD and Cooperatives Minister Md Tazul Islam today underscored the need for using modern technology at all levels of agriculture to take ahead the country.
 
"Agriculture is the main driving force of the country's economy. There is no alternative to modernize agriculture to take ahead the country," he said at the opening ceremony of the 12th International Agro Tech Bangladesh-2024 at Bashundhara International Convention City in the capital.
 
Rural Development Academy (RDA), Bogura and Limra Exhibitions jointly organized the 3-day programme.
 
Noting that modern technologies are being used at every level in the agriculture sector in the advanced world, the LGRD minister stressed on using modern technologies in farm mechanization in the agriculture sector in Bangladesh.
 
He said the government is implementing various programme for the development of agriculture and farmers.
 
State Minister for Rural Development and Cooperatives Md. Abdul Wadud, RDA Director General Md. Khurshid Iqbal Rezvi and Limra Trade Fairs and Exhibitions Private Limited Chairman Kazi Sarowar Uddin joined the opening ceremony as the special guests.
 
Rural Development and Cooperatives Division Senior Secretary Mosammat Hamida Begum chaired the programme.
