TUNGIPARA, Gopalganj, April 26, 2024 (BSS) - Newly appointed Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Academic) of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) Professor Dr Mohammad Atiqur Rahman today paid rich tributes to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by placing a wreath at his mausoleum at Tungipara in Gopalganj.

 After laying the wreath, the Pro-VC stood in solemn silence for some time as a mark of profound respect to the memory of the Father of the Nation.
 
Later, he offered prayer seeking eternal peace of the departed souls of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib and other martyrs who had to embrace martyrdom on the fateful August 15, 1975.

A special prayer was offered seeking longevity of the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her family members.

 The Pro-VC also signed the visitors' book at the Tungipara Mausoleum Complex.
 
Professor Dr. AKM Khurshidul Alam, Dr. Ariful Islam Zoaddar Tito, Dr. Zakir Sumon, senior vice president of Tungipara Upazila Awami League Elias Hossain, its Joint General Secretary Sheikh Ziaul Basir Tutul, Municipal Mayor Sheikh Tozammel Haque Tutul, Municipal Awami League General Secretary Forkan Biswas and teachers, officials and employees of BSMMU, among others, were present.
