DHAKA, April 27, 2024 (BSS) - Awami League (AL) leaders and workers today paid tributes to veteran politician Abdus Samad Azad, who was one of the organizers of the Great Liberation War, language veteran and first foreign minister of independent Bangladesh, on his 19th death anniversary.

Led by AL Joint General Secretary AFM Bahauddin Nasim, the party leaders and workers laid wreaths at his grave at Banani graveyard in the morning.       

AL Organizing Secretary Abu Sayeed Al Mahmud Swapan, Deputy Office Secretary Sayem Khan, central working committee members Shahabuddin Farazi, Nirmal Chattarjee and Azizus Samad Azad Dawn were present, among others.

Abdus Samad Azad was one of the close associate of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. He was a Presidium Member of Awami League.
