DHAKA, Apr 30, 2024 (BSS)- Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested six persons including Yasin, the prime accused in shoe trader Saber murder case from city's Paltan area on Monday afternoon.
Members of two separate team of RAB-3 and RAB-15 arrested them after a joint drive in Paltan area at 6 pm, the elite forces confirmed it here today.
The arrestees are identified as M Yasin,35, M Salman,27, Abdullah, 43, Sohag,32, Bablu,28 and Abdul Jabbar, 31 while these arrestees are hailed from Jaliapara village of Teknaf upazila under Cox's Bazar district.
"Victim Saber, a 37-year-old shoe trader at Teknaf Burmese shoe market, succumbed to his injuries at Chattogram Medical College Hospital at 11pm on April 11. He was severely beaten by Yasin and his cohorts on April 2 over business-related enmity," said M Shamim Hossain, Assistant Police Super and Staff Officer (Media) of RAB-3.
Later, the accused managed to flee away, when the other traders along with brother of the victim rushed to the spot.
A murder case was filed in this connection with Teknaf Model Police Station on April 13.
