PARIS, May 8, 2024 (BSS/AFP) - The natural El Nino phenomenon that warms the Pacific Ocean and contributes to hotter weather globally "continued to weaken" in April towards more "neutral conditions", the EU's climate monitor said on Wednesday.
El Nino "reached its peak at the beginning of the year" but coincides with "long-term trends, which persist and are directly linked to warming", Julien Nicolas, climatologist at Copernicus, told AFP.
