DHAKA, May 19, 2024 (BSS) - State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Mohammad Ali Arafat today emphasized projecting the story of the struggle of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina before the world to mark her Homecoming Day.

"The pledge of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's Homecoming Day should be projecting the story of the struggle of Bangabandhu's daughter before the entire world," he said.

He said this while addressing a discussion organized by Dhaka District Awami League (AL) at its office in the city's Tejgaon area as the special guest, marking the Homecoming Day of AL President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Prime Minister's Private Industry and Investment Adviser Salman F Rahman addressed the discussion as the chief guest while AL Presidium Member Advocate Qamrul Islam, MP, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, MP, and AL organizing secretaries Ahmed Hossain, MP, and Mirza Azam, MP, spoke as special guests.

Putting emphasize on presenting the history of Sheikh Hasina's struggle, sacrifice and her fighting and clinching victory in adverse environment, Arafat said, "We want to promise that we will uphold the story of the struggle of Bangabandhu's daughter not only before Bangladeshi people and our next generation, but also before the whole world. We will present the story of awakening again".

The lessons of the struggle of not compromising with injustice and not being defeated to injustice, and the fight to establish justice amid hundreds of hurdles should be spread among the children, he said, adding that the events that actually happened in the life of Sheikh Hasina beat even the fiction and the story.

The story of establishing justice over injustice started through the homecoming of Bangabandhu's daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on May 17 in 1981, Arafat said, adding, "We should observe the day throughout the country, including in every school and college, along with the children".

Dhaka District AL President valiant Freedom Fighter Benjir Ahmed, MP, presided over the discussion while its General Secretary Paniruzzaman Tarun conducted it.
