DHAKA, May 24, 2024 (BSS) - Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested 11 dacoits from Jatrabaria area last night (Thursday) as they were taking preparation to commit a robbery.

"A smart contingent of RAB-10 detained the members of the robber gang from South Jatrabari area under Jatrabari Police station around 10.30pm on Thursday night after conducting a combing operation," said Assistant police super and assistant director (Media) of RAB-10 M J Sohel.

The arrestees were identified as prime suspect M Rakib Hossen, 20, M Yasin, 20, M Swajib, 28, M Raihan alias Hridoy, 28, Akash Maji, 19, Swajib, 19, Rabbi Hossen, 26, Mostakim, 28, M Rahad, 27, Santo Ahmed, 25, and M Ali, 25.

RAB recovered local weapons including a knife, one machete, two long knives, one Hashua and five mobile phones from their possessions.

According to the primary interrogation, RAB said they were committing different types of criminal activities including theft, snatching and extortions at different areas across the country, including Jatrabari.
