Light to moderate rain likely over parts of country

DHAKA, May 28, 2024 (BSS) - Light to moderate rain or thundershowers
accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at many
places over four divisions, at a few places over two divisions and at one or
two places over Rajshahi and Khulna divisions with moderately heavy to heavy
falls at places over Mymensingh, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions.

"Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary
gusty/squally wind is likely to occur at many places over Dhaka, Mymensingh,
Chattogram and Sylhet divisions, at a few places over Rangpur and Barishal
divisions and at one or two places over Rajshahi and Khulna divisions with
moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over Mymensingh, Chattogram and
Sylhet divisions", according to weather forecast predicted by Bangladesh
Meteorological Department (BMD) for next 24 hours began from 9am today.

The land Depression over Manikganj and adjoining area moved northeastwards
and now lies over Sylhet and adjoining area. It is likely move northeastwards
further and weaken gradually by giving precipitation. Steep pressure gradient
persists over North Bay.

Day temperature may rise by (1-3)øC and night temperature may fall slightly
over the country.

Country's highest temperature on Monday was recorded 33.4 degree Celsius at
Tetulia. Minimum temperature today was recorded 24.0 degree Celsius jointly
at Tangail and Bandarban.

Maximum rainfall for the last 24 hours till 6am today was recorded 257
millimeters(MM) at Chandpur.
