BSS former chief reporter Tabibul Islam passes away

DHAKA, May 28, 2024 (BSS) - Tabibul Islam, former chief reporter of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS), died of old-age complications at his Uttara Sector-5 residence in the city this evening.

He was 88.

"Tabibul Islam breathed his last at 7:10pm today at his Uttara residence," senior journalist Aminul Islam Bedu told BSS.

He left behind his wife, two daughters, relatives and a host of well-wishers and admirers to mourn his death.

Journalist Tabibul Islam worked at the national news agency Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) for long.

He was attached with Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's Press Wing from the national news agency.

He will be buried at Uttara Sector-14 graveyard at 11pm tonight following a namaz-e-janaza at Uttara Sector-5 mosque.

In a condolence message, Managing Director and Chief Editor of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) Abul Kalam Azad expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of senior journalist Tabibul Islam, former chief reporter of the news agency.

He prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family members.

In another condolence message, BFUJ-Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists President and Chief News Editor of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) Omar Faruque and its Secretary General Dip Azad expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of journalist Tabibul Islam.

They also prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.
