DHAKA, May 29, 2024 (BSS) - Members of Anti-Terrorism Unit (ATU) of police arrested a fugitive convict in connection with a cheque fraud case from city's Shahbagh Police Station area yesterday.

The arrested was identified as Razia Selim , 45, wife of Selim Biswas a resident of Naragati in Narail District, ATU Media and Awareness Wing police super Barrister Mahfuzul Alam Russel told BSS today.

Acting on a tip off, a team of ATU conducted a drive in Shahbagh area and arrested her on Tuesday afternoon, he said.

He said a case was filed against Razia for cheque fraud in 2016 and the court sent her to four- month imprisonment without labour and fined her Taka 13 lakh.

The accused was handed over to the concerned police station.
