DHAKA, June 1, 2024(BSS) - President Mohammed Shahabuddin today wished the 52nd Annual (triennial) General Meeting of the National Council of Bangladesh Scouts a success as the meeting will be held tomorrow.
"I welcome the initiative of organizing the 52nd Annual (triennial) General Meeting of the National Council of Bangladesh Scouts. On this occasion, I extend my best wishes to all members of Bangladesh Scouts and Council," the head of the state said in a message.
Currently, the members of this organization are more than 25 lakh, he said, adding that the trend of scout movement should be continued to meet the target of creating 50 lakh scouts in Bangladesh by 2030.
He called upon all concerned to make relentless efforts for this.
The President said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina announced 'Vision 2041' to make Bangladesh a developed, prosperous and smart country by 2041.
To achieve this goal, the youth community of the country should be developed as smart citizens with the spirit of the great war of liberation and proper human values, he added.
"Scout movement can make a positive contribution in this regard," said Shahabuddin.
The president hoped that the new leadership elected at the council meeting will take the scout movement forward with skills and competence.
He congratulated this year's award-winning Scout members for their outstanding works and significant contributions to scouting.
