DHAKA, June 3, 2024 (BSS) - Former member of Liberation War affairs sub-committee of Awami League Shafi Ahmed passed away at his city residence here today.

He was 62.

He breathed his last this evening following a heart attack at his residence, said a press release.

He left behind wife, two sons and a host of relatives and admirers to mourn his death.

Shafi Ahmed was a student of Dhaka University and participated in mass movement against former dictator government in 1990.
 
AL General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader expressed profound shock and sorrow at his death.
 
In a condolence message, he prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.
