DHAKA, June 4, 2024 (BSS) – Members of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested four members of a transport extortionists’ gang from South Karaniganj, the outskirts of the capital city.

The arrested were identified as Md Emran alias Mikael,44, Md Anik Hasan alias Rana, 32, Md Sumon Mia, 42 and Md Abul Khair, 42, Assistant superintendent of police and Assistant Director (Media) of RAB-10 M.J. Sohel told BSS today.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of RAB-10 conducted a drive in the city’s south Karaniganj area and arrested them at around 12:30am on Monday, he said.

He also said RAB recovered Tk 3,380 in cash, a plastic pipe, four mobile phones and three sticks from their possession.

Legal action has been taken against them, he said.
