DHAKA, Jun 6, 2024 (BSS) - Nationwide ‘Land Service Week-
2024’ is going to start on June 8 (Saturday) with the theme
“Smart Land Service, Smart Citizens”.
On the occasion, the Dhaka Divisional Commissioner’s office
today arranged a press conference at its office here.
The Divisional Commissioner of Dhaka, Md. Sabirul Islam,at
the press conference, said the ‘Smart Bangladesh Roadmap’
is planned to include 4 pillars - Smart Citizen, Smart Society,
Smart Economy and Smart Governance respectively. In
continuation of this, the Ministry of Land has taken several
innovative activities with the aim of making land services
more accessible to the common people.
A total of 32,212 houses have been constructed for landless
and homeless families in the 1st to 5th phases under
Ashrayan-2 Project in Dhaka Division.
“All of these families have already been handed over their
land titles and certificates,” he said.
A total of 1,10,51,051 e-name registration cases were settled
within 28 days under Dhaka Division in 2022-23 financial
year and 1,26,51,051 were settled until April 2024 of the
financial year 2023-24..
A total of 1,043 modern union land office buildings have
been constructed in the 1st phase under the “Construction of
Town and Union Land Office across the Country Project,” and
in the 2nd phase, 1,333 union land office buildings are being
constructed to solve the land-related problems of common
people, he added.
