DHAKA, June 6, 2024 (BSS) - The Program for Agricultural and Rural Transformation through Nutrition, Entrepreneurship and Resilience of Bangladesh (PARTNER) of Bangladesh Agricultural Research Council (BARC) organised a seminar titled 'Human Resource Development of PARTNER Program' at the BARC Auditorium, Farmgate here today.

Award Letters were handed over to 233 selected PARTNER PhD fellows on the occasion, said a press release.

Agriculture Secretary Wahida Akter was present as chief guest and handed over the Award Letters among the selected PARTNER PhD fellows.

Agriculture Ministry’s Additional Secretary Dr. Mahbubul Haque Patwary; senior agricultural economist of the World Bank Jhen Shen Joe and EFAD Representative Dipika Goshwami were present as guests of honor at the program.

Program Director of PARTNER Mizanur Rahman was present as special guest with Executive Chairman of BARC Dr. Shaikh Mohammad Bokhtiar in the chair.

Consultant (HRD) of Agency Program Coordination Unit (APCU)-BARC, PARTNER Dr. Moin Us Salam presented the keynote paper and Agency Program Director of APCU Dr. Md. Ashraful Alam gave the welcome speech.

Agriculture Secretary Wahida Akter congratulated the awardees and expected that they would do their best in promoting the agriculture to make it competitive, vibrant and commercial through inventing climate-smart, nutrition rich crops and technologies to address the existing and incoming defies.

She also stressed for skillful management of nature resources. She reminded the PhD fellows of their obligations and inspired for undertaking the challenges of securing food and nutrition of growing population.
