DHAKA, June 28, 2021 (BSS)-The heavily damaged building, caused by explosion, at Moghbazar may collapse any time, fire service and civil defence official said today.
“It is not possible to use the building any more due to the yesterday’s explosion,” director (operation) of Fire Service and Civil Defence Lt Col Zillur Rahman told reporters after visiting the spot.
He said the blast damaged the building heavily as it could not be repaired again.
“The building owner has to decide whether he will demolish it. None should enter the building for the sake of safety”, Zillur said.
Zillur, also head of the probe committee formed by fire service, said their teams are collecting evidence from the three-storied wreckage and taking statements of witnesses, the injured and owners of business outlets at the site.
The Fire Service and Civil Defence personnel are working on it and the fact would be revealed immediately.
Earlier, seven people, including women and children, were killed and more than 50 others were injured in the blast that took place at Moghbazar around 7:30pm last evening.
