RAJSHAHI, July 2, 2024 (BSS) - Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun has categorically said they will not take liability of any personal corruption.
"Investigation against corruption done by the persons will go accordingly. No corruption allegation will be treated as small," he said while talking to the newsmen after inaugurating the 32nd founding anniversary celebration of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) here today.
IGP Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun said they are now capable of coping with the offense of multidimensional corruption. "We have procured need-based modern equipment and developed human resources," he added.
Meanwhile, RMP celebrated its 32nd founding anniversary today in a befitting manner and fanfare.
On this day in 1992, the RMP was established with four police stations and the number was enhanced to 12 at present considering its demands.
RMP area has been enhanced to 900 squire-kilometers from the previous 203 squire-kilometers.
To mark the celebration, RMP family members took out a colourful rally from their headquarters building premises and the rally ended at the Police lines drill shed after parading through some thoroughfares.
IGP Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun inaugurated the daylong celebration by releasing balloons, festoons, and pigeons in the sky as the chief guest.
Subsequently, he transplanted saplings of varieties of trees at the headquarters building premises.
Principal of Bangladesh Police Academy Masudur Rahman Bhuiyan, RMP Commissioner Biplob Bijoy Talukder and Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP) of Rajshahi Range Anisur Rahman were present on the occasion.
