DHAKA, July 6, 2024 (BSS) - A team of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) during a special anti-narcotics drive yesterday arrested a man with 285 bottles of foreign liquor from city's Gulshan area.

The detained person was identified as Sazzadul Islam Dolon, 27, son of Saidul Islam of Morolganj Thana in Bagerhat.

According to RAB sources, acting on a tip off, a team of RAB-1 conducted a raid in Gulshan police station area around 1:30 pm on Friday and arrested him.

Assistant Director of RAB-1 M Mahfuzur Rahman told BSS that a private car used for transporting drugs, 285 bottles of foreign liquor (271.13 liters), two mobile phones, four SIM cards and some cash money were recovered from him during the drive.

During primary investigation, it was revealed that he had been supplying drugs and liquors to unauthorized bars and restaurants in various areas of the country. 

The liquor trader and the seized drugs were handed over to the concerned police station, he added.
