DHAKA, July 11, 2024 (BSS) - The High Court (HC) today ordered the authorities concerned to immediately promote 44 lecturers of nationalized colleges in different parts of the country to the post of assistant professor.
 
A High Court division bench consisting Justice Naima Haider and Justice Kazi Zinat Hoque gave the order declaring the rule issued in this regard earlier as 'absolute'.

The concerned authorities have been asked to implement the court order within 60 days of receiving the copy of the judgment.

According to the writ, various colleges were nationalized after 2018 across the country. Similarly, the lecturers working in those colleges at that time were absorption in the light of the absorption rules.
 
But after the absorption, it was seen that the lecturers who were getting allowance of seventh grade before nationalization have been given ninth grade. The additional salary received from them since 2018 was demanded back.
 
Later, a writ petition was filed in the High Court against this discriminatory order.
