DHAKA, July 17, 2024 (BSS) – The namaj-e-janaza of former member of Dhaka College unit of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) Md Sabuj Ali who was allegedly killed by BNP-Jamaat terrorists during anti-quota movement was held in front of the central office of Awami League at Bangabandhu Avenue this afternoon.
 
Awami League general secretary and road transport and bridges minister Obaidul Quader and leaders of the AL central units and associate bodies and people from different strata of life participated in the janaza.
 
After the janaza, Sabuj’s elder brother Nurunnabi demanded exemplary punishment to those responsible for the killing of Sabuj.
 
Floral wreaths were placed on the coffin of Sabuj on behalf of Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Central and Dhaka City Awami League and Swadhinata Chikitchha Parishad also placed floral wreaths on Sabuj’s coffin to show their respect.
 
Later, Sabuj’s body was taken to Nilfamari Sadar upazila for burial.
 
Earlier, Bangladesh Chhatra League also held janaza of Sabuj at Shahbag.
