DHAKA, July 18, 2024 (BSS) - The parliamentary standing committee on the Ministry of Food today recommended recruiting security men at all the food godowns across the country.
"The JS committee has recommended direct recruitment of security guards at the food division through outsourcing in an effort to maintain safety of the food godowns across the country", said a parliament release here today.
The recommendations came at the fourth meeting of the JS committee of the 12th Jatiya Sangsad held at the Jatiya Sangsad here with its Chairman Shahjahan Khan MP in the chair.
The meeting has also requested Bangladesh Food Safety Authority to fix a strategy and formulate necessary recommendations for eliminating food adulteration based on existing food management and identifying the food related problems.
Apart from this, the JS committee also recommended enforcing food campaign for raising awareness and curbing food wastage.
Other committee members including Food Minister Sadhan Chandra Majumder, M Mokbul Hossen MP, Abul Kalam Mohammad Ahsanul Huq Chowdhury MP, S A K Ekramuzzaman MP and Dropodhi Devi Agarwal and high officials of different food related organizations, among others, attended the meeting.
