DHAKA, July 18, 2024 (BSS) - Water levels at 15 river stations monitored by Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC) have marked rise while 94
stations recorded fall.

Among the 110 monitored river stations, water levels at one station has remained steady while one station is flowing above the danger level, a bulletin issued by the FFWC said here today.

 The Jamuna River at Jagannathganj (Jamalpur) is flowing 26cm above the danger level.

The Brahmaputra-Jamuna rivers are in falling trend, which may continue in next 72 hours, the FFWC bulletin said adding the Ganges river is in steady state, which may continue in next 24 hours, while the Padma river is in falling trend which may continue in next 48 hours.

 The major rivers in the North-eastern region of the country are in falling trend overall, which may continue in next 48 hours.

 In next 24 hours, flood situation at low-lying areas adjacent to Brahmaputra-Jamuna river of Jamalpur district may improve. In next 24 hours, water level of Teesta, Dharla and Dudhkumar rivers in the Northern region of the country may flow in normal condition.
