DHAKA, July 27, 2024 (BSS)-The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court today granted seven days police remand to BNP Joint Secretary General Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie for his alleged involvement in vandalizing and arson attacks on Bangladesh Television (BTV) during quota movement across the country on July 18.  

Metropolitan Magistrate (MM) Shanta Akhter passed the order after hearing both the sides as the police produced him before the court seeking 10 days remand. 

Earlier, police arrested Annie from his house in the city’s Elephant Road on Thursday.

In this regard, General Manager of BTV Mahfuja Akhter filed a case with Rampura Police Station on July 19.
