Prayers offered countrywide for people killed in violence 

DHAKA, July 28, 2024 (BSS) - Special doa and prayers was offered today at all mosques, temples, pagodas and churches across the country seeking eternal peace of the departed souls of those who were killed in violence centering the quota movement and wished recovery of the injured people.

People of respective religions took part in the prayers following their own religious beliefs and wished the country's peace, order and security.

Special prayers were offered at Siddeshwari Kali Mandir in the capital. Food Minister Sadhan Chandra Majumder, Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr Samanta Lal Sen and Religious Affairs Minister Md Faridul Haque Khan joined it, among others.

Bangladesh Puja Udjapan Parishad, Mahanagar Sarbajanin Puja Committee, Dhakeshwari National Temple Managing Committee also jointly organised a prayers meeting at Dhakeshwari National Temple at 11 am.

Awami League Organizing Secretary Sujit Roy Nandi, Pankaj Nath, MP, AL's Dhaka City South unit Vice President Dr Dilip Roy and Awami League leader Balaram Poddar were present, among others.

Earlier on July 26, a special doa was offered at all mosques across the country after Jumah prayers seeking eternal peace of the departed souls of those who were killed and early recovery of the injured during the 'complete shutdown' enforced by the quota protesters.
