DHAKA, August 4, 2024 (BSS) – Awami League Presidium Member and Textiles and Jute Minister Jahangir Kabir Nanak today called upon the people to resist the anarchy carried out by BNP-Jamaat terrorists groups across the country.

He said this in a press conference at AL President Sheikh Hasina’s Dhanmondi political office.

Nanak said the one-point demand of ousting the government is of the power-monger BNP-Jamaat conspirators.

AL has already decided to make tougher resistance against those who are carrying out terrorist and anarchic activities.

The leader of the movement will have to take the responsibility of all killings and violence, he said.

“Don’t destroy the country’s stability and state properties. We don’t want conflict, we want peace. Everyone will have to make responsible behavior,” he said.

Those who carried out violence on Sunday are not students rather they are cadres of BNP-Jamaat Chhatra Dal and Shibir terrorist groups, said Nanak.

The AL presidium member urged the guardians not to be confused over the propaganda and keep their children at home and also bring their children back at home, who are in streets.

Addressing the students’ community, Nanak said, “All demands of students’ community have been met. The Prime Minister has kept her door open for discussion with students. The government is committed to listening to their statements,” he said.

But the country’s cross-section of people including farmers, workers and students won’t accept the conspiracy of toppling the government capitalizing on the movement of students’ community, he said.

AL Presidium Members Abdur Razzaque, Mostafa Jalal Mohiuddin, Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya and Abdur Rahman, Joint General Secretaries Mahbubul Alam Hanif and AFM Bahauddin Nasim, Organizing Secretaries Ahmed Hossain, BM Mozammel Haque, Mirza Azam, SM Kamal Hossain, Afjal Hossain and Sujit Roy Nandi, Forest and Environment Secretary Delwar Hossain were present, among others.
