KHULNA, Aug 4, 2024 (BSS) - Miscreants carried out arson attacks and vandalism in Khulna city today that left over 100 Awami League men, including Khulna city unit AL general secretary MBA Babul Rana and Jubo League general secretary Sheikh Shahjalal Sujon critically injured.

 
The attackers also set fire to over 50 Awami League offices and 100 vehicles during the mayhem. City AL leaders blamed BNP, Jamaat-Shibir for the arson attacks and destruction.

Khulna city unit AL General Secretary MBA Babul Rana, Khulna city Jubo League general secretary Sheikh Shahjalal Sujon and district Chhatra League president Pervaz Alam were under treatment in a city hospital.

Besides, the arsonists attacked around 25 police boxes and Zilla Parishad Office of Khulna.

They also launched attacks on the houses of AL leaders including Sheikh Helal Uddin, MP, and Sheikh Salahuddin Juwel, MP, Mayor Talukder Abdul Khaleque.

The miscreants also damaged Khulna Press Club and Bangabandhu's mural.
