DHAKA, Aug 8, 2024 (BSS) - Students and members of Fire Service and Civil Defence are working to control traffic across the country, including the capital.
Due to the absence of traffic police, they remain engaged on roads in the city and important places throughout the country to keep the traffic system smooth.
Director (Operation and Maintenance) of Fire Service and Civil Defence Directorate Lt Col Mohammad Tajul Islam Chowdhury is monitoring the traffic control activities at the instruction of Director General of the Directorate Brigadier General Md Main Uddin, a press release said.

Currently, 620 firefighters at 227 traffic points and 215 volunteers at 57 traffic points are stationed nationwide to maintain traffic properly.
