DHAKA, Aug 8, 2024 (BSS) - People's Liberation Platform (PLP), also known as Gonomukti Moncho, has urged the international community for supporting its efforts in rebuilding nation as the people of Bangladesh are determined to establish a society based on fairness, transparency, and accountability.
In a statement, the PLF said Bangladesh has unified its people under one platform as this movement represents the collective voice of the people, dedicated to rebuilding the country after reclaiming it from the clutches of tyranny.
Signatories of the statement included Shahriare Shuvo, Coordinator, Students Against Discrimination; Salimullah Khan, writer and academician; Sharmeen Murshid, Human Rights Defender; Shahidul Alam, photo-journalist and activist; Sara Hossain, lawyer; Major General ANM Muniruzzaman (Retd), Security Analyst; Ashfaque Nipun, Filmmaker; Zahed Ur Rahman, teacher and political analyst; Shafiqur Rahman, physician and politician; Muhammad Husamuddin Chowdhury, Islamic Scholar and politician; Asaduzzaman Fuaad, lawyer and politician; Waree Nokrek Marak, Nokma and Mandi Community and Sakib Pratyay, multimedia journalist.
"To the State of India, our message is clear: the Bangladeshi people are fully capable of governing our own country and do not seek external interference. We will not allow any extremist forces to gain control in Bangladesh. We recognize that ensuring the security of India's seven northeastern states is also crucial," reads the statement.
"We believe that a secure and prosperous South Asia can only be achieved through cooperation," it said.
The platform said the people of Bangladesh are committed to working alongside the Indian people to ensure mutual security and prosperity.
"Together, we can build a stable and thriving region," it said.
