CHATTOGRAM, Aug 15, 2024 (BSS) - Intercity train service resumed operation from Chattogram railway station today after nearly a month of halt.

The services resumed with the departure of Sagarika Express train operating on Chattogram-Chandpur route from Chattogram Railway Station at around 8 around am, Railway Station Master Shafiqul Islam confirmed BSS.

Intercity train Sonar Bangla Express train left Chattogram railway station for Dhaka at 4:45pm.

"All types of train services started today. We are determined to ensure a safe and pleasant train journey for passengers," he added.

Passengers expressed satisfaction at the full restoration of train services after the long hiatus, he said.

The Bangladesh Railway suspended operations of passenger trains on the day of the 'Complete Shutdown' program on 18 July amid the violence centring the quota reform movement.
