DHAKA, Aug 21, 2024 (BSS) - Three senior police officers, including two additional inspectors general of police, were sent on forced retirement today.
The officials are Atikul Islam, additional IGP and Anwar Hossain, additional IGP (supernumerary) of police headquarters and Md Asaduzzaman, additional commissioner (Counterterrorism & Transnational Crime) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police.

The Public Security Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs issued three separate notifications in this regard.

According to the notification, they have been sent to retirement from government service in the public interest as per the provisions of section 45 of the Public Service Act, 2018.

They will be entitled to get all fringes of retirement benefits as per rules, it added.

On August 13, former Special Branch (SB) chief, AIG Md Monirul Islam and former DMP Commissioner Habibur Rahman were also sent on forced retirement.
