DHAKA, Aug 22, 2024 (BSS) - General holidays have been cancelled for officials working in the regional information offices under the Press Information Department (PID) and divisional and district information offices under the Mass Communication Department (MCD) in the flood-affected areas.

The officials have been instructed to perform their duties staying at their respective workplaces.

The Information and Broadcasting Ministry issued the directives in an office order as flash floods have hit different districts across the country due to active monsoon and downpour.

Besides, directives have also been given to inform about the overall flood situation round the clock to PID control room through the contact numbers- 029512246 and 01913-013332, and MCD control room through the contact numbers- 8300645 and 01520-102122.
