NARSINGDI, Aug 22, 2024 (BSS) - Five people were killed and 35 were injured in a clash between two groups of rivals in Raipura upazila of the district last night.

The deceased were identified as Firoja Begum, 35, Junaid, 16, Amir Hossain, 70, Anis, 30, and Tofazzel, 30. All of them were the residents at Saidabad village.

Officer-in-Charge of Raipura Thana Safayet Hossain said two groups of people led by Hanif Master and Firij Member locked in a clash over establishing supremacy at Saidabad Bazar at around 10 pm and the fighting continued till the morning, leaving five people dead on the spot.
