BELGRADE, Aug 23, 2024 (BSS/AFP) - Six people, including four children, died
Friday in a fire that broke out in a suburb of the northern Serbian city of
Novi Sad, officials said.

The fire started around 3:00 am local time (0100 GMT) and the victims are all
believed to be members of the same family, Serbia's Interior Minister Ivica
Dacic said.

Police and emergency services attended the scene of the fire, which has now
been extinguished.

The minister said the fire was believed to have been caused by an electric
scooter that was connected to the power grid.

Dacic said that the internal ministry was "working intensively to determine
all the circumstances of this tragic event".
