DHAKA, Aug 25, 2024 (BSS) - Bangladesh Meteorological Department today predicted light to moderate and moderately heavy to heavy rainfall or thundershowers with temporary gusty wind at places over all eight divisions of the country in the next 24 hours commencing 9 am today.

"Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places over Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions; at many places over Dhaka and Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Rangpur, Rajshahi and Mymensingh divisions with moderately heavy to very heavy falls at places over Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions," said the weather bulletin issued here this morning.

Day temperature may fall by 1-3 degrees Celsius over southern part and it may fall slightly elsewhere over the country. Night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, it added.

Country's maximum temperature on Saturday was recorded 35.0 degrees Celsius in Rajarhat of Rangpur district while today's minimum temperature 24.0 degrees Celsius was recorded jointly in Tangail and Rangamati.

Rainfall for the last 24 hours till 6 am today was recorded 133 mm in Koyra, an upazila of Khulna district.

The sun sets at 6:23pm today and rises at 5:38 am tomorrow in the capital.
