DHAKA, Aug 25, 2024 (BSS) - Another murder case was filed against ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina and 48 others for killing Shaikh Ashabul Yeamin, a student of Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST), during the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement on July 18.

Victim's uncle Abdullah-Al Kabir filed an application to Dhaka Senior Judicial Magistrate Md Saiful Islam's court this morning appealing to lodge a murder case against the 49 accused.

Accepting the plea, the court ordered Savar Thana police to record the statement of the plaintiff and register the complaint as a first information report (FIR).

Awami League general secretary and former road transport and bridges minister Obaidul Quader and former home minister Asaduzzaman Khan, among others, were made accused in the case.

According to the case statement, Yeamin, a student of MIST was shot from an armored car while he was attending a peaceful protest rally on July 18.

He was rushed to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College and Hospital where the duty doctors declared him dead, the case statement said.
