Prof Yunus asks all to work unitedly to minimise plights of flood victims

DHAKA, Aug 25, 2024 (BSS) - Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus today urged all to work unitedly to ease the plights of flood-affected people.

He came up with the call while chairing a taskforce meeting on addressing flood situation at his office here.

The chief adviser asked all concerned to continue their robust efforts in rescuing stranded people, providing emergency healthcares and extending all-out cooperation for the flood victims.

He gave different directives to lessen sufferings of flood-affected people remaining united during this crisis period.

During the meeting, Prof Yunus mentioned that Taka 20 crore was allocated for carrying out urgent relief works and rescuing operation in flood.

He instructed the authorities concerned for proper utilisation of the money for rescuing the affected people and conducting relief works.

Besides, he suggested buying baby foods, water purifying tablets and oral saline and other emergency goods.

The chief adviser gave directives to restore the telecommunication network in flood-hit areas.
