DHAKA, Sept 3, 2024 (BSS) – Foreign adviser Md Touhid Hossain today expressed keen interest to increase engagements with Nepal for further enhancing the existing excellent ties between the two south Asian nations.
He made the remark when Nepal Ambassador to Bangladesh Ghanshyam Bhandari paid a courtesy call on the foreign adviser at the foreign ministry this afternoon, a foreign ministry’s press release said here.
During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on collaboration on various sectors of mutual interests including trade, connectivity, energy and education.
They also recognized the significance of strengthening regional cooperation through SAARC and BIMSTEC.
Referring to the long-standing excellent relations between the two countries and the strong people-to-people ties, Ambassador Bhandari mentioned that the existing bilateral mechanisms are being meet on a regular basis.
Nepal envoys congratulated the foreign adviser on his new appointment.
He referred to the congratulatory messages of the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Nepal and their good wishes to the interim government’s Chief Adviser and foreign adviser.
He also reaffirmed the Kathmandu’s commitment to work with the Bangladesh’s interim government for the benefit of the peoples of both countries.
The foreign adviser thanked the Nepal government for their good wishes while highlighting the spirit of the recent students-led revolution in Bangladesh.
