BHOLA, Sept 5, 2024 (BSS) - Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Standing Committee member Maj Hafiz Uddin Ahmed (Retd) has said Bangladesh has earned independence at the cost of huge sacrifice, not to be slave of any country.
He said this while speaking at a rally at Shibpur Bazar of Tazumuddin Upazila here today.
“As an independent nation we want a neutral foreign policy to protect our sovereignty where every people will enjoy their rights to build a country free from all discrimination,” he said.
We want to work together for the country, he said adding that BNP will extend all support to the interim government led by Prof Dr Muhammad Yunus.
Hafiz Uddin said BNP is a party founded by Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman to implement some specific ideology.
“We don’t want to be a party of thieves like Awami League,” he said.
“Every ministers of Awami League fully indulged them in corruption and they changed their won fortune through unfair means,” he said.
He hoped that the interim government after essential reforms would hand over power to the real representatives of the people through a fair election within a logical time.
He urged BNP leaders and activists to follow the party’s chain of command.
President of Shambhupura north unit of BNP Golam Sarwar presided over the rally while Upazila BNP convener Golam Mostafa Mintu and member secretary Omar Asad Rintu, among others, were present.
