DHAKA, Sept 09, 2024 (BSS) - Bangladesh Meteorological Department predicted light to moderate and moderately heavy to heavy rainfall or thundershowers with temporary gusty wind at some places in all eight divisions of the country in the next 24 hours commencing 9 am today.

"Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Barisal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh and Khulna divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at some places over the country," said the weather bulletin this morning.

Mild heat wave is sweeping over the districts of Rajshahi, Kurigram and Tangail and it may continue, it added.

Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged over the country.

Country's maximum temperature on Sunday was recorded 36.2 degrees Celsius in Rajshahi of Rajshahi division while today's minimum temperature 25.0 degrees Celsius was recorded in Bandarban of Chattogram division.

Rainfall for the last 24 hours till 6 am today was recorded 35 mm in Bandarban.

The sun sets at 6:08pm today and rises at 5:43 am tomorrow in the capital.
