DHAKA, Sept 10, 2024 (BSS) - A complaint was filed today with the
International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) against ousted prime minister Sheikh
Hasina and 33 others for killing Farhan Faiyaz, a 16-year-old student of
Dhaka Residential Model College (DRMC), during the anti-discrimination
student movement in the city's Mohammadpur area on July 18.
Farhan's father Shahidul Islam filed the complaint accusing 34 people
including 76-year-old Hasina and her cohorts with the investigation agency of
the ICT.
The other prominent accused in the complaints are Awami League General
Secretary Obaidul Quader, former law minister Anisul Huq, former Dhaka South
City Corporation (DSCC) mayor Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh, AL
Presidium Member Jahangir Kabir Nanak, Awami Jubo League Chairman Sheikh
Fazle Shams Parash, BCL President Saddam Hossain and its general secretary
Sheikh Wali Asif Inan and former DMP joint commissioner Biplob Kumar Sarker.
The accused were charged with genocide and crimes against humanity.
The application has been made to take investigative action against the
accused according to the section 8 of the International Crimes (tribunals)
Act, 1973.
Farhan Faiyaz, born on September 12, 2006 was a second-year student in DRMC.
He was shot multiple times while attending a protest rally of students near
Dhanmondi.
After being taken to a hospital in Mohammadpur in a critical condition, he
was declared dead by the duty doctors.
