DHAKA, Sept 10, 2024 (BSS) – Primary and Mass Education Adviser Professor Dr. Bidhan Ranjan Roy Podder today asked the authorities concerned to take prompt measures in getting facelift the damaged government primary schools in the recent floods.
“The renovations of the damaged primary schools have to be completed on emergency basis when the post-flood rehabilitation works start,” he said this in a meeting as the chief guest to review the damaged caused by the recent flash flood in the primary education sector and find the ways out to overcome the losses at the ministry’s conference room.
A press release of the ministry said, infrastructure, furniture, books and other equipment of 2799 primary schools in 11 districts were damaged including 763 in Noakhali, 501 in Lakshmipur, 550 in Feni, 22 in Brahmanbaria, 523 in Cumilla, 169 in Chandpur, 164 in Chattogram, 77 in Moulovibazar, 8 in Sylhet and 22 in Habiganj in the recent flood.
The renovation works of the damaged schools are primarily required Taka 33 crore, the press release said.
