DHAKA, Sept 10, 2024 (BSS) – A total of 111 arms have been recovered and 51 persons have been arrested in last one week in the ongoing operations of the joint forces to recover illegal weapons.

The recovered weapons include seven revolvers, 30 pistols, nine rifles, 15 shotguns, three pipe guns, 16 shotguns, five light guns , 15 guns, one AK-47, one gas gun, one Chinese rifle, one air gun, one tear gas launcher, three SMGs and three SBBL, a press release said here today.

The joint operations are being carried out by Bangladesh Armed Forces, Police, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense party, Coast Guard and Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), the release added.
The joint forces started their operations to recover illegal arms on September 4.
